  1. That’s a self-extracting bolt. That’s how it works. The bolt presses against the end cap, which in turn pushes the crank off the spindle.

    If the outer 10mm cap has failed, you’ll need to get it out of there (somehow), then remove the 8mm bolt, then use a conventional crank puller to pull the crank off the spindle.
