MSC World Europa is MSC Cruises’ first world-class cruise ship, powered by LNG and built at the Atlantic shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

After operating as a hotel ship in Doha during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, MSC World Europa opened to the public on a 9-day round-trip voyage from Qatar starting December 20, 2022.

Because MSC World Europa runs on liquefied natural gas (LNG), it is said to be able to sail with 99% less sulfur dioxide emissions, 85% less nitrogen monoxide emissions, and 25% less carbon dioxide emissions compared to ships not powered by LNG. The ship will also be the first in the world to introduce LNG-powered fuel cells.
