So I recently bought a new bike that came with a 200mm fox transfer with kashima coat, and it’s too tall for me so I’m looking online to trade for a 175mm. I got this message from pinkbike asking me to trade and I told them I’d trade my 8/10 post for theirs for $100 if they wet sanded the chip that was allegedly sustained from bike on bike contact during transferring them.
The problem now is that we live in different states and driving doesn’t make sense. So 1. Is this even worth looking at with this chip? And 2. How could we both safely send each others droppers and I secure my $100 without anyone getting scammed here?

No. I personally would not buy a Transfer ever. Incredibly unreliable.

I don’t recommend buying any suspension or dropper posts with damage to the stanchions.
Only positive of that post is the seat clamp.
I would rather buy a new $80 post than use a scratched up dropper of any brand. Look around online. You can find a serviceable dropper for a fairly low price. I think you can still find Manitou dropper (relabeled BikeYoke Revive) for $200. The V2 Fox droppers can be hit it miss. You’ll have people say theirs have been issue free for years…or they are bad right out of the box. I’ve had mine for a year, and it’s been trouble free so far. If you want the Kashima look, just drop the cash for a new one.
Do fox transfers not allow for reduction with pins like some other brands, e.g., OneUp?

The transfer posts suck, especially for their price. Very unreliable pieces of shit.
Lots of comments shitting on the Transfer but I have over 1k miles on my ‘22 Transfer Performance Elite.
That said, fixing a gouge like that is sketchy at best. Do not do the trade.
