Marbach am Neckar is a town with 16,053 inhabitants (December 31, 2022) in the Ludwigsburg district in Baden-Württemberg. It is located about 20 kilometers north of the state capital Stuttgart. Marbach am Neckar belongs to the Stuttgart region and the European metropolitan region of Stuttgart. Marbach is known as the birthplace of Friedrich Schiller, to whom it owes the additional name Schillerstadt, which has been officially used since 2022.[2] The city is home to the Schiller National Museum, the German Literary Archives and the Modern Literature Museum.
