I'm relatively new to mountain biking mostly dirt biker. Just have regular shoes and they are terrible for mountain biking so I asked Reddit and they said 510s are the way to go made by Adidas so I looked up online and they are expensive but that's what you get for quality also saw a post and several replies saying Ross could have killer deals so I headed down there immediately and I found about 3 or 4 different pairs.
The high top ones are d30s 5.10 Trail cross the other one's say 510 Free Rider Pro and the other one had like this clip thing on the bottom of the shoe my question is what is that for?
Also which shoes do you recommend? I bought two pairs the ones on the top row in the picture above. (8 pictures)
Also what are the differences between the pairs? Is it the protection is it the riding style can someone please explain more?
Also I don't think it would hurt if I use them for a dirt bikes as well just casually writing as opposed to putting boots on.

Thanks for advice!
The thing on the bottom of the shoe is to screw in whatever clips you are sing for clip less pedals.
adidas bailing on 510?
any shoe made for flats (flat pedals) feel the same i’ve tried 510’s fox’s and leatts and they feel relatively the same. i personally prefer the photo 3 style but that’s just me, both pairs will do the job very well tho. edit* mtb shoes have a flat sort of softish rubber sole so the pedal studs can get a nice hold. happy riding bro🔥
I found some but only for clips guess I need some clip pedals now
Never found a size 14 at Ross…
