Awesome climb, and probably outside of my comfort zone too
Awesome you guys! Wish I could something like that. Too old now. The highest and longest climb of my cycling career I did in my youth , from Chieti to the Block haus on my beautiful Olmo three speed. Zig zaged most of the way. Epic! The descent was scary , touring bike, steel rims, a little rain. Hardest part was the last three or four kilometers up to Chieti, there was nothing left in the tank, and it was past dark. Can't remember what came first the smack up side the head or the hug of relief she gave me but all I could think of was food and sleep. But mamma, I told you I was going for a ride!!! Epic!
No wonder Manon quit GCN.
Good Bye Manon, All the very best with your future. We will miss you.
As a mountain biker massive respect to you both. The stuff of nightmares. 🚲
At 15:07, losing altitude you’ve worked so hard for seems a bummer. But I suppose it’s some distance for free.
Knock it off with that worn-out "you've never" meme, it's gratuitously insulting – and really, if you've heard of it pretty well anybody could have. After all, it's been in the Guide Chauvot for decades.
What happened? Did Hank make it to the top? Was he denied? Did he find a bag of Mars up there? Is there descent video?
Well done Manon and Hank. Hanks pep talk to Manon about all the work that she has done though they have more to go he talks about the view. I feel a similar way when I am hiking and I want to turn around and head back to the car. I think about all the effort that I have put in up to that point and what the reward will be when I reach the summit.
Did you guys drive all the way there in an I'd buzz???
There is a road up to the top of Veleta in the Sierra Nevada (Spain) that tops out at 3398m and you can start in Granada at 750m.
I didn't do that, I am a fat middle-aged bloke. I left the car at 2500m, rode to the top, and then back down to Granada, abandoning the car. Which was the plan, because I was working and the test was to see if the car would start properly after being parked overnight at 2500m.
But. I think that's reckoned to be the biggest climb in Europe.
So confused. Did you climb 3000+ meters? Or is the final elevation 3000+ meters? I doubt you started the climb at sea level so the it has to be one or the other.
answer to my question came at 16:38. 3180 meters = 10433 feet
Not to know Jesus Christ is the worst place one can be.
🤩💜
I impressed by how fresh you both looked at the top of the climb! Not a drop of sweat in sight. And so clean despite all that dust!
That zone 2 work paying off handsomely!
Could you do this on a fast? Using fat source as energy?
congrats manon🎉
As a matter of interest what car is that ? looks incredibly versatile …. Thanks… BB
Would have made more sense doing this climb on an e bike. Solid workout though 🥵
My legs would be so cramped up that they would bent backwards like a Barbie doll.

Just wondering how many spare batteries for EMTB needed for this climb? 😉
I'll miss Manon. Maybe come back to gcn someday. You would be welcomed back
There should be final video compilation of all of the times Manon complained bitterly.
I expect it will need to be quite long…
i'm wondering… how DID you get down? Did the bikes fit in the ski lift? 😉
Wow, that was epic. And the descent?
Is this Manon's last GCN video?
That wasn't a ride, that was a slugfest. Way to go Manon and Hank!
❤
Smith Donald Taylor John Walker Kenneth
we need to see andrew here
That’s only 12,000 feet of elevation? Lol
Whats the point of a hard ascend if you dont get the satisfaction of racing down again?
Brutal but what a challenge. As wit all your videos it has wet my appetite, just a shame e manon wont be there. How much further did Hank actually get?
My biggest climb so far was about 2k feet in just under 10 miles. It was brutal and I was so tired that I couldn't really enjoy the downhill, but the view was great.
Manon got dropped 😭
I'm curious how the fueling was handled honestly.
Manon, we will do it, but do we really have to?
Hank: come on you can do it … Don't be a lazy bum, cheerio! 🤷🏼♂️🤣 Poor Manon 🤗 y'all made it though. That makes me happy 🥳
Come ride the mine exploration roads in the Yukon mountains!
