I know it’s said a lot, but get some fenders. Along with that I have two pieces of advice.

I installed these too far back and they fit terribly. I thought I got the wrong size or something but then I reinstalled them ~10 degrees forward and all of a sudden they fit perfectly.

Don’t ever clean them or even look under them or you’ll realize that everything stuck there is just a fraction of all the junk that used to be flung onto your body every day.
