I would go and replace it. Looks like it has been dry for to long. But remember you have to replace the cassette as well.

Either would work, it looks mostly like surface rust.
Soak it in a can of oil overnight, then work all the links, wipe it off and put it back on.

Get a new one and check your drivetrain for wear. If you’re unsure and do not want to learn bike maintenance take it to the bike shop. Hopefully your drivetrain isn’t worn but if it is you want to know before riding with a new chain and wearing it out extremely fast. In future if you ride in the rain wipe the chain dry with a cloth. And regularly clean and relubricate the chain. Wax lubricants are the easiest to use but require a deep clean and more maintenance learning. Oil lubricants can be good but every-time you clean you will be removing oil and it’s messy and annoying. Muc off cleaning products are very good for removing oil but the lubricants are bad as they make the most mess. Ceramic speed ufo drip is the best drivetrain cleaner I know of and can prepare you’re drivetrain for wax and then you could use ufo drip and that would make your chain last longer and be clean and easy to maintain.

Looks ok, rag sprayed with GT85 (or similar) clean chain working around until all done, you’ll most likely find this is all very superficial. If you have a wear indicator check when chain is clean. If slightly worn, replace chain, if badly worn, replace chain and cassette, if ok, simply lube (lightly) and wipe off excess. Keep chain lightly lubricated, excess will attract dirt and create more problems, clean and lube, don’t lube a dirty chain.
Follow this going forward and you’ll be fine. If you don’t have a chain wear indicator, buy one, they are not expensive and will save money in the long run.

Can probably be saved, but it would take time and effort. Chains are pretty cheap and easy to install. Depends how much you value your time.

Just don’t do what I did and spray WD40 on it. It got all over the place including my brake pads. They had to be replaced.
