Finally got around to getting this back out on the trails! This bike donated most of its components to a Warbird. I was going to part with the frame but found a screaming deal on the fox fork which spear headed this build. Budget build sourced from eBay, parts bins, market place and wherever else! She rides real fun!

    Build sheet:
    – topstone alloy frame
    – fox 32 tc gravel form 40mm
    – microshift sword 1×10
    – trp hy/rd brakes
    – fsa dropper 100mm with wolf tooth remote
    – hunt carbon 30 all road wheels
    – maxxis rambler 50mm front 45 rear.
    – redshift kitchen sink handlebars

Rolls really nicely through the soupy gravel and single track yesterday. I was originally hoping I could squeeze a 50mm rear wheel. Which I could but it left maybe 2mm of clearance on each side which made me nervous of wheel flex. The mud around here doesn’t cake up like clay. I might give it a whirl one day and see if I actually get some rub. The remote that came with the FSA dropper had a wildly long throw. The wolf tooth is awesome with its push pull design. You can activate it in or out of the drops. Sword drivetrain is simple and solid.

This is going to serve as a back up second bike – non race bike trip, under biking, kid wagon pulling, beer grabbing ride. It’s a lot of fun.
