  1. We shouldn't mock them really, it was their ancestors who paved the way for us to know what was safe to eat and what wasn't. Just imagine how many of them died a tortuous death from poisoning before we discovered which mushrooms were safe to eat and which ones were deadly. Likewise how many sacrificed themselves to plates of rhubarb and custard before discovering if you removed the leaf you'd survive. Personally I'm not akin to eating fungi nor do I see the point in eating anything you've got to drown in sugar to make it palatable. Yet I do give credit to those who essentially were Guinea pigs on my behalf.

  2. This can be good because it was safer to do that than tangle with traffic in the roadworks.
I have cycled for 40+ years and never killed anybody or even fell of up to now and I hope never do.
This is bad press as it probably was safer.
I do not hate car drivers, I love em and 99% are safe and curious, it's just that odd idiot with no patience or sense.
