I've had a couple of very scary chainring incidents at speed and, trying to find the cause, found that my large chainring is able to bend away from the outer plate at only one spot of around 10 teeth – the rest is completely rigid. Am I right that this needs a new chainring and should not be happening at around 2000km? The grey area highlighted on the picture is the gap that opens up with a bit of finger push – expect it could be much bigger when riding hard. And those teeth do look a little bit more worn the rest.
