After my old bike (25000 miles or so) bit the dust, I opted for an Aeroad that was on sale. It wasn’t the super high spec bike, but had all the beeps and whistles I could need. SRAM Force AXS, integrated bars, nary a cable nor tube to be seen, and the deepest section wheels I’ve ever ridden.
Let me tell you, this bike is seriously fast! I felt like I was doodling along at about Z2 and I was riding my companions off my wheel. I had to learn to modulate my speed in a way that I couldn’t even wrap my head around.
The bike sits on the road like it’s on a rail, and the disc brakes (the previous whip had rim brakes) gave such a sense of security and safety that it was an entirely different experience. Just amazing.
Just wanted to come and gush a little here. It’s such a great bike. Pic at the end of a 55 miler up state.
