I’m indecisive between these 2 wheel sets. I’m building a cross country/bikepacking type of bike but with 27.5 wheels. I’ve rode the DT Swiss on a gravel bike before and changed end caps in the front so now it fits a 15×100 fork. I was honestly hoping to see a massive difference in weight between both. To my surprise both weighed almost the same. I’m guessing this Spank 350 wheelset was advertised as a sturdy MTB wheelset with a really nice hub and good engagement points. The DT Swiss wheelset is a gravel option, but has a higher load capacity with less spike counts.
My question here is: which one would you pick? Any recommendations why? I’m trying to build this bike with the idea of it being really serviceable and durable.

I’ll admit to being overly cautious but I would not trust any 24 spoke wheel loaded up with 140kg. *Maybe* if I hand built them with thick plain gauge spokes. But a wheel is a complex system under tension, and 1/24 failing will cause a cascade failure of spokes a lot faster than a 1/32 failure would.
