DT Swiss Endurance LN rim from a year old (3,200Km) Canyon Endurace CF SLX 7 Di2. I removed the valve stem to add more sealant, but then ended-up with a leaky valve stem. I thought I'd then remove the tyre to clean out the old sealant and found a tear in the rim tape (eighth spoke from the valve hole). This is the first time I've had the tyre off since purchase, so surely the tear happened at the factory. Should I patch with rim tape or remove and replace with new tape?

Don’t think you could definitively say it tore at the factory but yes best practice would be to redo the tape
Road bike rims are often taped twice due to higher pressures. That’s not from the factory. That’s from air pressure. I would patch it, but add another layer to the entire rim.
