Smallmouth Beach at Ferry bridge is right at the end of the Rodwell Trail. I walked along the disused railway line to Sandsfoot gardens where there is a cafe and toilets.
There are 2 nice beaches here.
If you wanted to you could follow the Rodwell Trail all the way to Weymouth Harbour.
It ends at Abbotsbury road, just up from Westham Bridge, which separates the inner Harbour from the backwater at Radipole Lake.
