I am seeing a 10 nm hex screw on one side but when I try to undo it, it feels WAAAAY too tight where I have to really do 100% of my power to try to unscrew counterclockwise. Is there something I have to remove/undo first before unscrewing or am I still just not putting enough pressure to undo it?

This is Trek’s ThruSkew. You need to use a metric hex (either 5mm or 6mm – not sure) to unscrew it. You should only have to unscrew the main center axle (not the little bolt holding the nut on the side).

Make sure you’re using a good quality hex wrench for it and that you’re holding it straight. If you strip it, it’ll be way harder to remove.
