I just replaced a Sora Medium Cage rear Derailleur – damaged – with an older Shimano 105, on a 3×9 setup for a Surly Disc Trucker – Roadbike setup.

The issue is that on the high rear gear, this derailleur – which is slightly shorter sits on top of the 34T rear cassette and I can hear the noise as I pedal uphill.

I've already maxed out the B Screw adjustment.

I like this Derailleur otherwise, and wondering if I can use to Wolf Tooth Roadlink to give myself the clearance necessary, even tho they say they are setup for 10 and 11 speed discs?

I've had experienced mechanics argue both yes and no, so please, don't just hazard a guess; I'm looking to confirm whether this solution can work or not, so I can then either find a smaller cassette or a medium-long cage rear Derailleur replacement.

Thanks 🙏
