I just picked this frame up a couple days ago for $20. I'm in the process of throwing some random parts on it to help figure out what I want the end product to be. I was bummed that these 32c tires were too big. What would you do with this frame?

You could add a front and rear derailer maybe some friction shifters just to get the bike running. From there you could really do anything I have a frame like this and turned it into a fixed gear and later changed it to a front basket commuter with flat bars. Awesome frame too🤘
Looks sporty. Run 28mm or 30mm if they’ll fit. $20 Shimano Acera derailleur on the rear will do everything you need for the cassette. Given the lack of mounts, it’s a true race horse. I’m of the thought these old race bikes should be ridden light and fast. Maybe go compact chainrings up front, but I wouldn’t try making it anything other than what it is. Let it fly.
Edit: looks like a 1992 model. These were introductory race bikes. Designed to compete with Euro markets with Euro geometry but Giant’s proprietary steel production in Taiwan. They were supposed to punch way above their price point.
looks nice! … I like the color scheme just like on my 1990 520 (it IS a touring frame however- can run 43mm tires) slapped on mismatched shimano parts
