I would like to build up this 456 up as a rigid bikepacking rig. They are usually build with long travel suspension forks. Would it work with a Surly Krampus fork? The fork ist for 29 wheels and has a axle to crown lenght of 483mm. I plan to install 26 wheels but could go with 26/27,5 if that helps the steering angle. I read the 456 had already a lot of slack compared to other bikes from that era. Would love to hear what you Thinge about the idea.
