Bottom line is is would be devastating for the time period if just one A-10 went back, but if a squadron went back. That would have changed a lot.

Putting aside the technicalities of the A-10 vs the ME-262 dogfight in 1944 or 1994 for that matter, it is possible that the Allies would have reached Berlin faster than the Russians and that now becomes an interesting though exercise as it would have shaped the Cold War all the way until present day.

Interestingly, the first flight of the YA-10 was less than 28 years after the end of war in Europe, while it's been 52 years now since that first flight. The A-10 is closer to being a WWII plane than it is to being the latest tech, (though the systems aboard the plane get updated on a regular basis.)
BTW, I loved seeing the land-based Air Force P-47s taking off from a carrier (it actually happened in the Pacific campaign. Once.) and that 5-engined jetliner!
