After much playing around trying to index my gears and find a noise I believe it's now coming from this cassette. What do you all think? Even though I've tightened it as much as physically possible with the correct campagnolo lock ring, I still have this much play.
Am I right in saying it's way too much? Why would it still be there after fully tightening?

Yes it’s too much but it looks like it’s the axle not the cassette itself.
Most Campagnolo freehubs run on cartridge bearings and look like this when they are worn but they are replaceable. Some have a circlip to stop the inner bearing moving, this can be a bit of a pain to remove. Complete new freehubs are also available, you can find the part number by looking at the spare parts catalogues on Campagnolo.com
The play is likely from the freehub body on the wheel.
A new freehub costs approx £70 GBP. Often the. Bearings in the freehub can be replaced. There are two bearings and they cost about £5 each. Labour will add a bit.
