I want to know if this Trek 1000 road bike is worth what it’s advertised for. The owner ended up offering me $230 after I checked it out. The brakes are a little stiff and not as responsive as I’d like but that’s something that I can change later. Any thoughts?

If it’s not a department store bike, and is actually in ‘really good condition’, then the answer is yes.
Yes, it’s a good deal. Go to a bike co-op for replacement parts like stems & bars at way low pricing. I see tubeless rim brake wheels for sale all the time.
It’s a nice looking commuter. But it’s also a very very short bike. How tall are you?
