Got into biking in 2019, bought a cheap dual sport bike that I’ve completely changed everything..
I’m 51 yrs old and when I started biking I weighed 225lbs, down to 195lbs now at 6’ tall… So I set a goal for 130,000’ this year and I’m not far away now but wanted to see what the older group of bikers do for year? I know others ride ridiculous miles which I don’t because I live in the mountains and only ride one day a week and don’t really think my body could stand more than what I do now. Anyway, I ride by myself so really don’t have any comparisons… Love what I’m doing now just wanted to see how others do in my age group!

Your doing great! I’m at 3,250ish miles but only long 40k climbed…I live on a crazy flat pancake!
Nice elevation 💪
Don’t worry about what others did. You are doing awesome. Riding bikes. Getting healthier. Doing cool shit. In (sometimes) beautiful places. Do more of it in 2025.
Wow! That’s a ton of steep climbing if you did all of that in just 803 miles!
For context, I’m at 4200 miles for the year and 155,000ft of gain.
I just turned 40 this year, and live in a mountain state. 6’6” and 250lbs. I’m not fast climbing, but I get there eventually. You’re proof that I’ll still be doing this at least 10 more years down the line!
That’s a lot of miles! Absolutely love biking here in APPALACHIA MOUNTAINS! Thanks for the positive feedback gents!
