I've just installed this 8 speed wheel and it was kinda a huge learning curve just to put the thing back together…did I install it wrong? Is this noise concerning?
The noise in question being when I back pedal or let it coast

I think it might just need to be cleaned, but getting the chain tension right is difficult.
Usually these are noisy when water gets in and corrodes the bearings/internals. In previous versions the drive side bearing was particularly poorly sealed, but this generation aren’t usually too bad. There isn’t really a cure for internal corrosion/wear, you’ve just got to relubricate and hope for the best. I generally use a thick quality lithium grease like Kluber NB52 on the bearings, but lubricate the internal with hypoid gear oil+molybdenum disulfide. That was a winning formula in the bad old days of poorly sealed nexus 7
