Does anyone know what this O ring is for on an i9 HG free hub? I can't find any reference to it in tech docs and it's not a cassette spacer for 10sp as that is a separate part. Is it there to create a seal between the freehub and hub itself using the cassette to compress it?

Sounds like it shouldn’t be there, I’ve never seen an o ring on one previously
Did it come with a free hub spacer? It may just be to hold that in place whilst shipping
