Been making a conscious effort this past month to not drive unless it’s for work (I’m a van man) and just use the bike for everything. Saved a fortune on fuel, feeling much better for it too.
I’m at my friends workshop tonight out of town doing a service on my girlfriends car and a couple of other bits. It’s 30 mins by car, 50 on the bike if I take the busy main roads (certain death), or 1.5 hours and around 12 miles or so if I take the scenic country route out of the city on a bike trail and off into the countryside. So, I’m making an afternoon of it!
Just finished prepping, heading off shortly. Thought I’d share a snap of the best bike I’ve ever owned. I cannot believe someone literally gave this thing away for nothing.

That’s a pretty awesome bike. Have you rebuilt all the bearings yet or just riding it as-is? That Huret drivetrain is pretty unique these days. Not the best-performing, but I’d keep it. The geometry of the rear derailleur is absolutely wild.
