I made it here at 18 years old. Ecuador was my 10th country and one of my favorites! Chimborazo is the tallest point on earth and the farthest point from the center of the earth. Even though Everest is technically higher above sea level, Chimborazo is on the equator which makes it closer to space. Got down to 12 F here which was the coldest night I had on my whole trip.

I’d love to do something like this, I have a question. How does border crossing work? Is it only an issue in/out of the states or is there hoops you have to jump thru for every country?
Also how do you manage unwanted attention in sketchy areas?
How did you acclimate to the altitude?
Or do you just not have too when you’re a cyclist and 18?
