Hi! I have some old cheap knock-off bike I bought second hand. I didn't take very good care of it but it's still riding just fine. One of the pedals broke and along with it I decided to try and refresh whatever else I could.
The front has disc brakes and the rear has V brakes installed, but the chassis does appear to have some mounting points for a caliper on the rear. I tried to look online for how to identify the mounting standard so that I can know what kind of caliper I can get, but I wasn't able to find an answer.
So I would like to kindly ask if anyone can point me in the right direction. What kind of caliper can I get for my rear?
Lastly, I took the bike once to a shop because the front was squeaking and it would go away if I very lightly pressed on the front brakes, the guy said the disc brake I have is an ancient design and that he cannot replace the rotor, is this true? Please see the images attached
P.S. I will be replacing the cassette as well, sorry for the messy bike 😅

Maybe try to find some second hand cheap hydraulic disk brakes for sale in you local gumtree equivalent. Often people upgrade brakes and sell their old ones for cheap, should be much better than your current setup. But you´d need appropriately sized disks on your wheels of course.
