This cop is lying. You cannot register an e-bike as it is not legally allowed on the highway, and has to honestly follow the rules of the road just like any other bicycle would. There are bike lanes for a reason.
If you are going to stop for police don’t tell them you’re with anyone else. Maybe if you guys really did nothing wrong. Cops always stop the one they could stop and give them the ticket.
