For context, this is the Great Western Trail in Lombard, IL near the intersection of St. Charles Rd and S Westmore Ave (41.8891927, -87.9937284). Path crossing is at the light of the intersection, crossing S Westmore Ave. Insane that city planners opted for this “solution” over proven ways to force cars to slow down and be aware of pedestrians smh.

This seems more to me like they didn’t want to add a crosswalk that had to be maintained and enforced and so just used the existing one 10 feet to the left.
