Shuts down meaning assistance + display + lights all switch off. After a bit, it is possible to switch it back on, some times the battery needs to be removed and installed again. No errors are displayed or registered. Battery health is good, all wires are without dammage, plugged in and contacts in good condition.
Note, issue can not be replicated by the shop staff, so just the customers kid can get it to shut down on the way to school. We have tested the bike off road for 40 minutes without issues..

I haven’t seen that myself, but the first two things that come to mind are thermal protection, and kids being doofs. I don’t recall whether STEPS has thermal protection, but if the kid has the bike laden with books/school gear/etc, runs it in turbo, and keeps it in the hardest gear, the motor might protect itself and turn off.
Kids being doofuses separate from not shifting coughs be jumping off curbs, of just having fun on a bike like a kid ought. I could see this jostling the battery loose?
What is listed in the protocol files you can download via the Shimano diagnostic software?
