  1. 1) I wouldn’t purchase a roof rack.

    2) Because it’s a brand new vehicle, there may not be anything approved by One Up to put on it. Now, if it’s the same body and parts that are used on the 24, see if One Up suggests anything for that.

  2. Do the crossbars say they have a T slot meant for mounting roof rack accessories? If so then it seems like Flush Mount would be the way to go.

if it’s a similar user manual to my 2023 sedan corolla we aren’t allowed to put a hitch on the vehicle. it could potentially void warranty later down the line, so roof rack is the move

  4. Can I ask why people get roof racks over hitch racks (for bikes)?

The idea of lifting my bike up on top of my car sucks. Feels like an inevitable drop/damage waiting to happen.

My hitch was affordable (including installation) and the rack was reasonably priced (I went with a good quality hitch from a mid-tier brand, and don’t understand spending over $500 on a hitch rack when $300 is reliable).

Roof racks are less aerodynamic, even without a bike, and reduce fuel efficiency enough to notice. Hitch racks are easily removable and are significantly more aerodynamic when a bike is on than a roof rack.

I don’t see any benefits of the roof rack, tbh, unless you have a very specific OTHER reason (kayaks, etc) and it doesn’t make sense to have both a hitch and roof rack.

You can even get cargo boxes that attach to the hitch (and again, more aerodynamic).

  5. So! I actually had the 1up roof unit on my Forester for a couple months before they came out with the hitch for my year. I am going to echo everyone and suggest a hitch because it’s more convenient. On a taller car, it is a huge pain to get it up there and I’m pretty tall. I also had a rock get stuck in my tire and fall onto my windshield unbeknownst to me. I then found said rock with my windshield wipers, so that was fun. But! if you want to do a roof mount unit, I’d recommend you get t track and the mounting hardware 1 up sells for it. it was super convenient to use and pull off when I needed to.
also be aware that you CAN’T forget that it is up there or you will damage your bike and maybe your car.

My buddy has the current model Corolla with hitch and 1up 2 bike rack. Works with 2 ebikes just fine. So your situation a hitch is definitely a good option.

Get the Standard 1.5 mount. If you already have the crossbar, measure the thickness top to bottom and match that to the chart. If not, from the photos I would guess those aren’t more than 1.5in thick.

It looks like there is plenty of space between the crossbar and the roof, so you don’t need the “low clearance” mount.
