what typa throw was that by groves he went waaay early
I am increasingly of the opinion that grand tours should do away with mass sprint stages all together… they don’t add any value to the overall GC except when unfortunate GC riders crash in the frenzy to start the sprint… it will be interesting to see an analysis of the % of crashes and abandons in the last 5 km of a sprint stage as compared to other stages… sprints should be the feature of one day races of course!
God this Vuelta has just been absolute chaos so far, can't remember a Grand Tour in recent memory getting off to such a marred beginning. If this is just Week 1, eager/scared to see what weeks 2 and 3 have on offer…

It hurts my ears to hear Kirby say MAR-tinez instead of mar-TI-nez ( correctly ). GCN should employ Rob Hatch for grand tours and keep Kirby commenting for shorter races.
