Watched a young girl die on the side of the road from this, she ran into the side of the car and hit her head on the A pillar of the car. I remember a few people around her talking to her calmly as she slowly passed away.
do parents not teach roadside safety anymore? it could be the middle of the night and i’m still gonna check both ways at least twice before checking and once while crossing

Kids need to be taught, as there are some fucking dreadful drivers about. I saw a local lad nearly hit a wheelchair on a crossing as he was doing 40 in a 20 other day.
I shouted at the wheelchair guy to stop.
Why kids would trust drivers I have no idea.
I suspect this viewer was driving without due care and attention – The Highway Code says to 'drive carefully and slowly when… driving past bus and tram stops; pedestrians may emerge suddenly into the road'.
Last Halloween I was driving around my neighbourhood in the evening, headlights on of course. Saw a few kids waiting to cross the road up ahead. They waited until I was closer then a couple of them crossed quickly. I was far enough away for it not to be a problem but when I got close the other kids tried crossing right in front of me. Had to hard stop and beep not to hit them. Idk what it is these days but when I was a kid I was always told to look both ways when crossing. Not a hard thing to do

They aren't "people magnets". They have people on. Just expect people, who don't drive and have no road sense to be getting on/off and to run out in front of you. Can we just have some plain English and less buzzword bingo, please? Most of the population aren't thick-tockers.

Oje time i watched a wheelchair go infront of a speeding car to prove a point becuase when the guy was hit , the car reversed back into him and drove away
Should of let natural selection to do it's job
There should be a law that where School buses stop all other traffic in both directions must stop. Dual carriageways with a narrow central reservation also.
This is because parents don't tell them that actions have consequences, it starts early.

I rode a motorbike for years before getting a car and my father gave me one golden rule, pretend youre invisible and no-one can see you, turns out its saved me from more pedestrians then motorists over the years
Is it just me, or are kids a lot thicker these days? Had one just casually walk out on to a 50mph dual carriageway in front of me yesterday morning and then walked back the way he came just as slow and casual after I slammed on. Just a very slight look of confusion on his face
It’s simply natural selection at work. If this is an issue for you, just remember that in America they mandate that all traffic stop – on both sides of the road – no matter how wide the road is, or how many lanes wide the road is whenever a bus is stopped to pick up or drop off children. That has completely stopped natural selection and look where they have ended up.
