Will any canti break replacement work? This is a beater bike, so spec requirements are low.
Of note, the part of the housing that’s breaking seems to be plastic, with an aluminum hook inside that might not itself be breaking? Either way, I want to replace it soon, but I’m wondering if it’s at least rideable until I do that.

Looks like just the plastic is broken which isn’t a structural element of the brake. The plastic surround a metal frame so you should still be good! If you’re looking to replace/upgrade, Tektro oryx 992AG are good and shimano has a cheap all metal Altus cantis.
