This is the moment a phone was snatched from a member of the public in Manchester by a thief on an e-bike.

Now, 20-year-old Michael ‘Mickey’ O’Leary has been detained in a youth offenders institute for a series of phone thefts.

He was found guilty on four counts of theft, one count of robbery and breaching his bail conditions.

At an address that was tracked to used Find My iPhone, police recovered a number of other phones – and found they’d all been stolen the same day, by the same people, in Manchester city centre and Ancoats.

O’Leary, 20, of Miles Platting, was detained for 56 months.
