I am trying to remove the cassette on my rear wheel in order to replace a spoke.
First of all, do I actually need to remove the cassette if the spoke needs to be attached to the non-drive side ?
Anyway, no matter how hard I push I cannot get it off. Am I doing something wrong? The arrows show the direction I am pushing

removing the cassette will make spoke replacement easier.
you’ll need to use more force. maybe a breaker lever.
Should be able to replace spoke on non drive side with cassette. However, I would still try to remove the cassette and re-install with greased threads and proper torque setting. Also, I use the skewer to hold onto the cassette tool do it doesn’t come out while under load. Don’t tighten the skewer but hand tighten the skewer an loosen once the cassette free.
Lie the wheel against ur shins with the cassette facing out and then hold the chain whip and push down with the spanner should come off .
Monitor point, but adjustable wrenches work better flipped over from how you have it in these photos.
Longer wrench for turning the lockring. You will need a longer Torque wrench (40nm) to put it back on as well. GL!
That was put on with 40nm might need more to take it off. Your tool uses what looks like a 1/2″ square drive. Ditch the adjustable wrench and go borrow/buy a breaker bar
I don’t know if I’m going to be able to explain this well but I didn’t have a breaker bar, so what I did was oriented the handles of the cassette wrench and wrench so they were almost in line with each other then I used a broom handle between those two handles and separated using the leverage from the broom handle
Thanks everyone I managed to get it off by holding the wrench the other way and just really forcing it. I think I was just scared of damaging something so I didn’t push as hard as I could have
