I got a new pair of Shimano XC702, mounted Crank Brothers cleats and shoe shields. The XC702 has carbon soles, Crank Brothers clipless pedals may (will?) ruin carbon soles, so think I need shoe shields. When I click in to the pedals, the sole is not touching the pedal body on both sides, so the shoe rocks side to side a bit. Anyone else deal with this?
Boring details: first time I posted this using the web app, it would not let me add both text and images. Using Mobile app this time. I tried this shoe with two pairs Crank Brothers candy petals, same problem with all four pedals. With a different shoe, I tried using the optional traction pads that clip onto the pedal, they suck, each one lasted about 2 weeks on average before breaking.

I believe that tall guy from GMBN uses a similar setup but with fancy XC902. Does that pedal come with pins?
