Sharing the parts you need to make this for $5. I got the hardware at Home Depot, so the item numbers in the pics may help you shop online.
You only need 1 each of the bolt and nut. 2 each of the washers.
I don't think I necessarily needed the 1/2* washers, but I got them so there was no gap around the bolt head to apply better pressure. Idk if that actually makes a difference, but in my head it seemed sturdier.

Anyways, I’m sure the washers could be dipped in wax to stop scratching. Wrap them in duct tape? Maybe even plasti dip
