I've been looking at a wheel upgrade for my Giant Revolt Advanced 2 and seriously considering the new Elite marvel G36 wheelset. How do I know if I need Shimano HG or Shimano MSR option for freehub? I haven't made any other changes to the Giant so all built as it came.

HG is what you want. I just went through this with my bike. I looked at your cassette as a standalone product and it said it was compatible with hyperglide(HG) hubs. MSR is microspline road.
