    If it shifts ok, and you don’t mind the length, leave it. But if it hesitates to shift, I’d shorten it almost an inch.

  2. It’s fine. Maybe causes a tiny imperceptible bit of drag, but not enough to justify the hassle of redoing it.

  3. Looks fine. Ideally, you want it to be long enough, and also short enough, that it puts the least amount of stress on the housing end cap (and housing as it enters the end cap).

    A solid and sharp pair of HD wire cutters and a tapered punch to fix the hole opening will work.

    Well if you wanted to be really anal about it , You could cut off maybe a quarter inch. I do not own a pair of capel housing cutters, But I do.
    Have a dramo tool which works super For cutting cable housing and even the cable Very handy tool to have at your home bike kit !

    It’s a shadow derailleur so that loop is definitely excessive, but doubt it’s impacting the shifting at all.
