I promise my last chainring post on this build. I came across a rusty set of Syncros cranks and some NOS Rocket Ringz and Vuelta USA Chainrigns. I painted the cranks and am now running 8spd rings on an 11spd drivetrain.

How’d you paint the cranks? How do the 8 speed chain rings work with the 11 speed drivetrain?
Also curious how the 8speed chain rings work with 11spd drivetrain. I’m doing a similar build and initial tests seem to work just fine. I haven’t given it real strong pedalling yet. Are you using friction shifters?

I’m running deore xt 737 cranks, just the 46 and 32 rings with a 10 speed deore 11-42 cassette. It works great!
