  1. Yea man, this will be great for whatever things you wanna throw at it that are in the realm of long speedy single track. Take care of it and keep up with basic maintenance.

No. If you’re riding on the road mtb tires and full suspension is not a good idea. It can work but, it’s not efficient.

Great looking and probably great riding bike for mountain biking on dirt single track though.

  3. This can be a decent XC and single track bike. For the road, there are much better options like a road bike.

  4. I have a lower end Scott Aspect from the same era and love it. I also love riding it on the road, although if that is your main focus, that’s certainly not the best bike for that. Not sure what you mean with “track”.

  5. Sure, it will get the job done on the trail. But a LOT has changed in mtb tech since then, so keep in mind you’re going to be on the trail with much more capable bikes probably passing you. Even a novice on a bike with modern geometry, tires (bigger than 26″), and brakes could do laps around me if I were riding this bike. But it’s a cool bike, hope you have fun with it.
