i understand the Romans…….
The Roman's tried the same thing with Judea and the Hebrews. They went so far that they changed the name of their country, killed almost everyone, and either enslaved the survivors or drove them out of the Roman empire far into Europe. They burned their culture, language and country to the ground and changed both the name of their homeland but the name of the survivors to the jews.
Maybe we should sue Christianity and Italy for destroying Celtic culture lol
So, this was just like Islamic invasions that eliminated other religions, cultures and civilizations.
Destroyed has a definition … So no you are wrong Creator.
Oh its the druids.
I thought it was about the Mithraic Cult lol
if you are comparing the druids to people like stephen miller, then perhaps it is a good thing that they are gone
Lots of factions other than just Rome have done this sort of thing throughout history sych as the Greeks, Assyrians, Israelites, Maori, Aztecs, Yup'ik, Chinese, Soviets, Russians, Mongolians, British, Germans, Dutch, French, Spanish, Chileans, Pontus, Abbasidians, Argentines, Comanche, Dahomey, Americans, and Belguim, to name just a few. Even Canada's hands are not clean. Humans have a very long global history of cruelty towards one another. War is in our DNA.
Reason why the Romans could never invade Scotland or Ireland
Rome is no different from other super powers for their time and beyond. When you have weapons that surpasses your conquerors you don’t win.
I've always found the Celts fascinating as a set of beliefs – they have a very interesting contrast between seeming like if Hippies became a loose nation of communes and the whole Human sacrifice thing. Though, it's not fair to condemn them as backwards and savage at a time when blood sacrifice in general and Human sacrifice specifically was so common.
It would have been interesting to see what the Druids would have become if they endured as an organised order – would they have reasserted their influence with the fall of Rome etc?
will they say this about hitler in 2000 years?
That AI picture with Ceaser using a ballpoint pen is just anachronistic to the nth degree.
As an American, sounds familiar
The religion was not destroyed. Nice video but the title is kind of disrespectful
Lots of drudic practices today are not much different to what the druids of old did, their rituals were much more reliant on nature than others, simply burning a sprig of juniper, offerings of milk, honey and grain are akin to their ways
A heart warms up
To where you feel at home
Soil surrounds the stone.
Éire
Yeah Romans really effed things up.
The snakes were just as bad as the aztecs. Get owned 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I thought this was about Manichaeism
Ireland is not a british isle, say the name. Especially in a video about empires trying to wipe out culture
