    Try and loosen the particular link causing the issue with some liquid wrench or wd-40. If it doesn’t loosen that way you can work it out with a chain tool

  2. If you have a quick link it might be upside down. When it is on the bottom of the drivetrain the little arrow should be pointed up.

    If the link is just stiff flex the chain at the stiff link with your hands a little bit and it should loosen.

  3. Most likely a stiff link. If so, grasp the chain on either side of the link and flex it some sideways away from you and back towards you (this is not in the normal direction a chain moves). If it is a stiff link, this will most likely free it up. Make sure you are taking care of your chain by cleaning it and putting lube on it.

  4. Run it slowly through and when you see the chain lip like that, inspect further at that link.

    There could be many things happenening:

    * Stiff link
    * Quick link upside down
    * Wide quick link rubbing against derailleur cage (cage deformed perhaps?)

    If your indexing was off (gear adjustments) then you’d find the chain wanting to skip cogs more than just once per full chain rotation

    Could be a stiff link, or you could have it a link too long and could be happening on a gear with little tension

    Edit, I think it’s too long as it feels like it’s doing it twice before the chain has completed full rotation

  6. If it was the cog you’d expect it to occur with every revolution of the cassette, which is far more frequent than what we are observing. This appears to be a particular link in the chain based on its frequency. Can you upload a video with it much slower, and we can watch that bad link very slowly moving its way around?

  7. Check the link and that its moving free and also maybe the chain is stretched. Check with a chain gauge.
