Anyone have any ideas how old this bike is? My dad has had this for years (he also doesn’t know much about it as it was gifted to him) and it’s where I learned to ride years ago. I’m planning to restore it to some degree and install newer parts.
On another note, do you think it’s still worth restoring and repairing? From what I can see, it’s got a threaded stem and cantilevers. The headbadge says it’s by Royce Union but I can’t find any decent information about them.

What’s going on around the bottom bracket ? Looks like fairly heavy rust on the right chainstay in your 2nd pic.
Regardless of what bike it is and what sentimental value it holds, frame damage is the one thing that will prevent restoration.
Aside from that, looks like a lot of work and parts but nothing too unrealistic. Whether it’s worth it or not, I personamly can’t tell
