(Update post) Finally aired up the tires so I can take her out for a short ride and goddamn I’m out of shape lol. Its so much harder than I remember. Definitely need risers with a higher rise, slightly wider tires because i dont think my forks will clear a 32c, and spd’s because the pedals and straps are not it, and possibly have to go up a tooth or two for cogs (48×15 rn). But she feels good and smooth so thats good

  1. I’m in a similar position, back on the bike after way too long off.

    The first day I rode it was a massive struggle, but going more regularly and going for longer, further each time, the muscle is coming back, and it’s getting easier.

    I don’t have the money for upgrades right now, and don’t really see them in my near future, so just making do with what I have the best I can.

    Ultimately, it comes down to, is it making you happy? If so, keep doing it.
