Gozo Guided Cycling Tour By Gozo Segway.
Gozo Segway also offer guided e-bike tours or will rent you an e-bike, your choice. We chose the guided e-bike tour and were given the choice of riding on road or off road, but we chose a mixture of both.
We also had a say in the route but these guys at Gozo Segway know best as they’re out every day and are experts on every nook and cranny in Gozo.
The modest charge for the day included Helmets, Insurance, Tour Guide, Photos, Traditional lunch and refreshments.
We were met at the Mgarr Harbour ferry terminal by Kevin, our guide for this Gozo e-bike tour experience, who quickly went through the drill on how to ride an e-bike, the controls and safety matters and off we went.
We had chosen a clockwise route from the Mgarr Harbour ferry port, so we rode up the hill through Mgarr passing Lourdes Chapel and at Chambray turned left off the road past Fort Chambray and headed down the track towards the sea at Xatt LAhmar, a small harbour with salt pans.
We encountered a muddy path here as it had rained all day on the day before our ride, but this was our choice of route and it proved to be quite an adventure.
Kevin our guide from Gozo Segway. was taking photos of our e-bike ride for all of the route which he would send to us right after the ride had ended. Just as well, as the views were thrilling all the way. Kevin is very knowledgeable about Gozo history and kept us informed of where we were and the history behind the place.
From the sea we rode uphill again to the road, turning west through Xewkija before riding down to the sea again at Mgarr ix-Xini harbour where we stopped for a break.
Next, along the spectacular Sannat cliffs and Sanap clifftops to the beautiful Xlendi Bay where lunch was provided by Kevin when we sat on the sea wall and watched shoals of fish swimming in the clear blue waters of Xlendi Bay.
We now rode towards San Lawrenz and the dive site of the Inland Sea before the long ride up to the North Gozo coast at Wied IIMielah with its rock arch.
Now Eastwards passing Reqqa Point and the famous Salt Pans to Marsalforn, South again to Victoria then straight down to Mgarr Harbour ferry port for our return to the Malta mainland.
