So I went for a ride in a lot of mud yesterday and halfway through the ride my rear derailleur started fouling on the spokes of the wheel. I thought I bent the hanger but upon further examination, I think I bent the rear derailleur itself? The hanger bolt won't come out and the frame of the bike looks mostly intact. Sorry if I'm being stupid, I'm fairly new to this.

Your derailleur has come completely off the hanger. Can’t see if it’s bent or not. But judging how dry and dirty your chain is, I’d guess maintenance is not high on your priorities. Anything mechanical needs periodic checks to be sure parts don’t come loose. You have to oil your chain to. Your bike will ride a lot better, and your gears will shift a lot better, with a little lubrication.
