The Old Town of Zagreb (Gornji Grad) is a must-visit area with its historic ambiance, narrow streets, charming squares, and iconic buildings.

1. Kaptol Square and Zagreb Cathedral
Zagreb Cathedral (Zagrebačka Katedrala) is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Its Gothic architecture and towering spires are remarkable. Be sure to see the intricate details and historical treasures inside.
Kaptol Square surrounding the cathedral is also filled with historical buildings.
2. St. Mark’s Church
This church, known for its colorful mosaic roof, is located at the heart of the Old Town. The roof features the coats of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia.
3. Stone Gate (Kamenita Vrata)
A remnant of Zagreb’s old city walls, this gate is considered a sacred site. Inside, there’s a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
4. Lotrščak Tower
Lotrščak Tower offers stunning views of Zagreb. Every day at 12:00 PM, a traditional cannon shot is fired from the tower.
5. Tkalčićeva Street
Famous for its vibrant cafés, restaurants, and boutiques, this street is perfect for relaxing and sampling Croatian cuisine.
6. Dolac Market
Zagreb’s main open-air market. You can find local produce, fresh vegetables, fruits, and handmade souvenirs.
7. Strossmayer Promenade (Strossmayer Yolu)
A peaceful walkway in the Old Town with beautiful views. In the evenings, it comes alive with artists and musicians.
8. Ban Jelačić Square
The intersection of the Old Town and the New Town, this square is the heart of Zagreb. It’s surrounded by historical buildings and serves as the main meeting point in the city.

The Old Town of Zagreb is an area best explored on foot, so comfortable shoes are a good idea. Don’t forget to check out the street performers and small galleries in the area!
